This is a story about the carpet seller.
Today i went to a shop with my aunt. She said she is looking for a new carpet for her living room. So, we dropped by a carpet shop near Arab Street. MashaAllah the carpets are all beautiful. It is made and imported from various country including Turkey, Afghanistan, Belgium and etc. Some of the carpets are made from silk and the price can reach up to thousand k's.
At the shop, the sales person who is also the owner of the shop is from Afghanistan. He was polite and quite a nice guy. He showed us many types of carpets from different range of prices. He was very calm and smiling along the way although can be quite choosy sometimes. While mummy is still choosing the carpet she wanted and start bargaining with the sales person, i observe on how he treated his customer. He told us he owned 9 of the shops in Arab street as some of the carpet he showed to Mummy was taken from the shop. He keeps on saying Allahu akbar (Allah is the Greatest) mashaAllah and alhamdulillah (all praises to Allah)
He also told us his name, (we didnt ask) haha. He told us to prove that he is a muslim and he is trying his best to give the best price to all his muslims customer. And so he told us his name is Faizullah. And mummy asked him what is the meaning of your name? He kept quite and a few seconds after that he asked us to guess. I couldnt care less and make a random guesing, i think faiz means win/you win something and faizullah resembles winning something from Allah. We asked him whether our guess is correct but he neither nod or shake. He instead asks us to google. I said i dont have access to the internet and thus he gave me his phone for me to google his name.
Faizullah -> Abundance from Allah
He said ya that might be the meaning in English but from his language, faizullah means light from Allah. Then, he pointed to us the shop opposite the carpet shop. That's my shop as well he said. We sell beautiful lighs and the main reason why i sell lights because i want to be just like the meaning of my name. I want to sell lights (to brighten) people's house. Just like my name light from Allah. :)
Dear Mr Faizullah,
Thank you for reminding me the importance of having a pure intentions in everything we do. It is true that everyone we met is a lesson and you remind me that i also have a beautiful name with a beautiful meaning and i should also live up to the meaning of my name. I pray that Allah will widen your rizki and i pray that Allah will shower you blessings and more customer in shaa Allah.
